River Clean Up Campaign 2024

On June 9th, 2024, the Johor State Government orchestrated a river cleanup initiative at Sungai Skudai, coinciding with a similar effort at Sungai Tebrau. Our dedicated team members were graciously invited to participate in the volunteer program "Johor Bersih," journeying to Johor to lend a hand in rejuvenating the Johor Bahru river at Sungai Skudai.

The day commenced with the gentle glow of the early morning sun casting its warmth upon the riverbank, where fellow volunteers had gathered. YB Tuan Ling Tian Soon, spokesperson for the Johor state, representing the Ministry of Health and Environment, delivered a brief address before all volunteers, including our own LUSH members, embarked on the task of clearing the river of unwanted debris.

The campaign proved to be a resounding success, with over 1000 volunteers from across Malaysia uniting to remove approximately 10 tonnes of waste from Sungai Skudai. This collective effort made a significant positive impact on the environment, underscoring our commitment to sustainability and community service.
